How to use .cur files?

    Okay, this is a total noobish question but I've never done it before. How do you use .cur files? I tried double clicking it, but that didn't work.

    You can't open cur files, but you can change your cursor with them. Go to your Control Panel and open Mouse, click Pointers, and then click Browse... and select your cur file.

    If you aren't planning to use the cur file as a cursor, then I'm not sure.

    What other use could you use cursor files for?

    I just Googled it, and it looks like cur files can also be a picture. I found it at this site. I think there is a free trial of that program.
