howto resize root partition

OH, and how big should each partition be? how big should the swap partition be? and how big should usr be and how big should root be?

It depends on what filesystem linux is using.If you have a recent ver. of PartitionMagic,that will work.Check DiskDrake and see if it has a non-destructive resizing option.There is also GNU/parted which may be on your system already.
If you have more than 4-5GB for linux there is no standard rule of partitioning.It all depends on what you want to do.
I'll post a better explanation when I get home from work:D

i beleive they are running...
/usr/=linux native
/=journalized fs:ext3
swap=linux swap
