    Hi guys,

Have got an HP 6910p laptop that is running XP with SP3 that has stopped shutting down. The power button has to be held down to switch it off. Any suggestions? Can provide more specific info if required but hoping this is a known issue. Thanks. Pete

Go to Power options in control panel and then go to power settings, change current plan settings , and then go to advanced , and then power button and lid and set power button action to shut down it should shut down instantly . This is all that I know Im not really experienced in this area but I had that problem this worked for me
