It takes 6 minutes to boot my PC (Dell Dimension 4600 series, Windows XP) after I installed above printer. After windows logo appeared a cursor starts blink on the blank screen and stays there about six minutes. But If I removed the USB cable that connect the printer this does not happened. help.

    Hi,

My name is Todd and I work at Dell's corporate headquarters. My team works with customers via blogs and forums. I saw your post and wanted to see if I could help.

Have you tried any other USB devices in that port to see if it happens with any other devices and isn't specific to the HP printer?

You may also want to go into your system setup (F2 during startup) and check the boot settings for the system. That system may be incorrectly trying to boot from a USB device and until it isn't able to it "hangs".

Let me know if other devices have the same problem or if you've been able to resolve the problem.

    Thank you,

    Todd
