I have an HP Pavillion 8756C with a PIII processor run by Windoze ME. The HP 842c printer freezes up frequently, but not always, when data sent to print. I try to remove from the queue but I can not remove the print job and sometimes the PC freezes later.

I have downloaded and installed the latest driver for this printer and the problem pesists.

    Any clues????

This may sound stupid, but it sounds as though your connection is being interrupted. Have you checked the cables for tight fit, and possibly the connector port on the back of the computer to see if it is seated tight?

I say this because any time I've ever had this type of problem it's been because there was a bad connection to the printer.

    hope this is some help

How is the printer connected to the computer, with a USB cable or a parallel cable?
