Hi a problem on a friends machine they upgraded their motherboard and processor, but when they tried to install their HP Deskjet 845c usb printer the instalation failed.

The usb cable and hub have been checked and the other three usb items are working.

Any ideas please: all I can think of is that the instalation disc might be faulty or there is some kind of software conflict

The new drivers did not find the printer either!

try plugging in the printer into a direct USB port not throgh the Hub. Also maybe the printer is broken.

    Hi TechGuy42
The printer is going direct from a usb port. The printer worked fine until the computer was upgraded. It has a new motherboard psu and ram and is now running usb2. All 4 usb ports are working three other devices are working , eg keyboard ,mouse and external burner.

    Hi TechGuy42
It turns out that the antivitrus programme was blocking the driver instalation. When it was switched off the drivers installed and the printer is now working.
    Thanks for your imput
