I have an HP Deskjet 920c that has worked fine until a few days ago. I tell it to print and the goes through the motions but nothing comes out. This means the printer icon is appears and says that it is printing but it does not. I have checked the power cords and the made sure that it is connected to the computer correctly. Any ideas?

Control panel, system, device manager.....does the parallel port appear there without an exclamation mark? Has anyone been in the bios setup and perhaps disabled the parallel port?

TRY DOING CTRL-ALT-DEL AND SEE IF "HPZSTATX" IS RUNNING.
IF IT IS - "END TASK" IT
THIS SHOULD FREE UP THE PRINTER (FOR NOW)
IT WILL TO CONTINE TO HANG ON THIS.

PERMANENT SOLUTION IS TO RENAME "HPZSTATX.EXE" TO "HPZSTATX.OLD" SO IT
CANOT RUN (BUT THIS DISABLES BI-DIRECTION COMMUNICATION WITH PRINTER)

I have a HP952c printer and I need to find out if it uses a USB cable or a parallel cable. I have long since lost the information on it. Is there somewhere in my system(Windows Me) that would tell me?

Uhm, silly question but. . .

. . . is the paper feeding correctly?

Maybe if you take the paper out and reload it. . . ;]
