The HP Deskjet F4100 series all-in-one printer comes in 6 models:

    F4135
    F4140
    F4172
    F4180
    F4185
    F4190

    Which one do you have?

Is your computer using Windows XP or Vista or 7, 32-bit or 64-bit?

Here is the support site for the HP Deskjet F4135 All-In-One printer.

Here is the full-feature software driver package 13.1.0 for Windows 7(64-bit). If you haven't already done it, download and save it. You might also want to burn it off to a CD-R.

Here is the section on blinking lights.

    -------------------------------------------------------------

Go to Control Panel - Programs And Features.

What's listed there that has "HP" as part of the name?

Thanks, I've already tried HP. I uninstalled and reinstalled the driver. I used the HP Diagnostic device. I tried resetting it. I have checked the print carts, I have inserted and reinserted them. I guess it's time to buy a new printer. Thank you for trying to help.

    I've got 3 HP all-in-ones: Deskjet F340, Deskjet F4180, Photosmart C4280

If you disconnect the USB printer cable from the computer, then uninstall everything that's associated with the printer, then restart the computer, then reinstall the software driver package, then reconnect the USB printer cable when prompted to, this usually resolves the problem.

I don't install any of the printer updates or diagnostic tools because that tends to interfere with and prevent the HP Solution Center from working properly.

This is just for your information.
