When I turn on my laptop "Windows Error Recovery" is what shows up. I have tried the "Launch Startup Repair" but it says "Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause." I don't have the installation disc. So what can I do to fix this. I am broke so I can't buy anything.

You could "recover to factory defaults" if the Recovery partition is still usable or if you created a set of Recovery discs.
