My sister-in-law had over 27 viruses and evenmore a list of trojans and enough spyware to choke a Tandy TRS 80 inside her PC. Afterwards, I loaded her up with AVG and Highjack This! I removed all the spyware, viruses and some of her goodies as well. :)

The only thing I can't seem to figure out how to get back is the video display that shows the volume on the screen as the + and - keys are pressed on the USB keyboard (model 5107). I tried the control panel, keyboard, etc.. I think another program runs that outfit?? If someone (anyone) knows the filename I can hook it up. Since the machine is an HP I imagine it starts hp?????.exe

Hiya

What the model of the pc? Is it Compaq Presario 5107US desktop PC, or was the 5107 just for the keyboard?

Is this video display activated only via the keybaord? When you were in Control panel, and in Keyboard, did you look at the Buttons tab?

Just looking at mine, as I have a HP but don't use any of the buttons. Pressed a few, and the camera brings up Notepad, etc. Not that I care, but thats a different story.

Anyhoo, in the Buttons tab, click on say Video, then click Global Preferences. Is the USB option ticked? You may want to try unticking it to see if it'll help.

Regards
