Whenever I press 3-4 keys that are located above the fan, they make a hissing/static sound.

    What could cause this?

Are you saying the sound comes from the area the '3-4 keys' occupy ? Which keys ? What model HP laptop is it ?

    HP Pavilion.

It's the a, s, e, d and x keys, although they still function and if i press them very gently they don't make the sound.

And yes the sound seems to come from underneath the keys.

sounds like that the chassis is weak under that spot where the fan is. There is nothing to do for it there except press the keys lightly. Still curious about the model of the computer. Provide it to us and we can be able to help you further. Thank you!
