hp laptop video card problem at startup

    hello:
    i have a hp 4100 running xp home. at startup i get one long two short beeps and no bios and dark screen. i hear this means video card problem. what can i do?

    Yeah it does appear that the code is for a video initialization problem. The killer is that in a laptop the video is on the MOBO, and not a PCI plug-in that can be swapped out.

    Unless someone has a better idea, I'd take or send it in for service.
