Hp Lcd Backlight?

    hi

    i got an hp pavilion ze4540us.

    and my screen does show anything... well it actually does.. show something but its very very dark.. you can barely see..

    it works good with an external monitor..

    any help is appreciated..

    I'm not too sure what you mean by, "It works good as an external monitor", but it sounds to me like you need a new backlight,

    Either the backlight or the inverter has probably failed. There have been threads here in the past about finding the parts to repair them, do a search in the Hardware forum here. It will be pretty expensive to get it repaired if it's not under warranty, but the parts are normally not that expensive.

    lol i said it works good with an external monitor... not as an external :p..

    hmm.. well.. thats a posibility... idk.. .
