I have a hp pavilion g6 2248ca and whenever I put the slightest bit of pressure around the power button or left side of the trackpad area the screen flashes white and stays like that until I remove my hand

As the operating system was deemed not to be genuine and we don't know if you ever fixed that, please do the following:

Please open an Elevated Command Prompt window (on the Start screen, type "Command" - a Command Prompt icon will appear, right-click on it and select Run as Administrator) then at the prompt, type the following (be sure to include the spaces):

Licensingdiag.exe -report %userprofile%\desktop\report.txt -log %userprofile%\desktop\repfiles.cab

After running the command, two files will appear on your desktop, report.txt and repfiles.cab. Please open the report.txt file in Notepad and copy and paste the contents here. The repfiles.cab is only a backup file and can be ignored for the time being.

Well we'll wait to see if someone can help you get it running but we'll need that report once it is please.

A laptop that came out in 2013 and indicates hardware problems
I put the slightest bit of pressure around the power button or left side of the trackpad area the screen flashes white and stays like that until I remove my hand
needs to be disassembled to see what is wrong.
Unfortunately a forum like this can't help you disassemble your laptop. All we can do is point to instructional videos that show you want to do.

Personally, I wouldn't trust myself to take apart a laptop. I'd either take it somehwere to be fixed or save my money and put it towards a new laptop.

I entered the generic product key for windows 10 home and it activated because there had been an activated copy of windows 10 home before that

Yes but as I said, we don't know that you did that so we want to verify it.
