Hi,
I have an HP company 6200 pro micro tower which beeps 4 times and repeats beeping 4 times With red lights flashing at same rate. I’ve replaced motherboard , tested ram in all slots, cleared cmos . I have no Idea what’s causing it. I tried forum on HP website. The machine is an i5 , 4gb ram. Also I plug power cable in and the fan spins for 2 seconds.
willing to pay donation on the site.
Would really appreciate help with this !
kind regards TJV"
The OP has mentioned the motherboard has been replaced... I was leaning towards the BIOS too... I would suggest removing any expansion cards (PCI / PCI-E / etc) and if you are using one of those for video, use the onboard for the time being and see if that helps.
You didn't mention if you replaced the memory, just testing. The only other part you haven't replaced with the memory is the PSU. Again, make sure you keep the PCI cards out for the test.
If you have replaced everything, have the PCI cards out and still have the issue? then that machine is haunted. lol
OH! I forgot one or two things... hard drives and optical drives (CD/DVD/Blu-ray). Disconnect those from the board and see if you get the same issue. Same if you have a floppy drive too
OK then we look forward to see if you can post with new memory and psu. Oh you didn't mention the CPU being replaced. Some other forums indicate a thermal issue too
One thing that comes to mind is the power supply powers on for a few seconds when I plug the power cable in .
