    Hi All

Running XP Home on a Gericom Notebook, CPU 3.06 HT. SIS648DX.

The problem is that whenever a key is pressed or held down, the cpu usage goes up to 100%.

I have downloaded all updates for xp and the chipset etc but no joy. The unit works fine with a non hyperthreading cpu. The Unit "allegedly" supports the 3.06 HT CPU

    Anyone got any ideas?

ps i have tied it with win 2k but still get the same problem

    Thanks for any info

    Joey

Go into the BIOS setup and disable HT. Save changes and exit. Boot up the laptop fully then shut it back down. Re-enter the BIOS setup and enable HT, save changes and exit.

    Good luck.

Thanks Kilowatt but there is no option in the bios to turn off the HT, and there is no bios update
