I want to create a domestic (non-commercial) Android app for my friends (birdwatchers) - I have picture/data/calls(.wav) folders which are used by an html5 php index page.
Can anyone with Android experience point me in the right direction?

Jim,

The way I'd do it would be to create a PHP class that would provide the data in JSON format. Your HTML5 app could then call those pages/scripts that return the JSON data and do with it what they will. I've been looking at doing the same for http://linuxphile.org. The site already delivers data in JSON format for rendering posts and such. I was thinking of using https://www.polymer-project.org/0.5/ to create the interface for an iOs and Android app. I believe I'd need to use PhoneGap or something similar to accomplish this. Just some ideas.

Well thank you, I had not thought of this approach, but shall pursue it with interest ...
