Ok, at the moment I'm frazzled and crazy and have an excedrin headache.

I, as in, myself, downloaded as a WIN RAR archive Final Fantasy 7, because i never got to play in my entire nintendo centric childhood.

I played, enjoyed, saved, and went to bed.

    Ok, here's the deal:

From the WIN RAR I can open the game up, but not from the savepoint.

From the desktop shortcut I made, I doubleclick, the game stalls, and when my computer reorients itself (I've done it FIVE TIMES) there are ten new P files on my desktop.

    So here are my problems.

    1) i don't know what a P file is in this context.

    2) I don't want to have to download an obscure program to open it unless necessary.

    3) I fear I did something wrong, but don't know what.

Does anybody know what to do? If you can solve my problem, I'll give you a Gmail account. If you solve my problem and have a gmail account, I'll give you an e-hug or e-card or my toe or something.

At this point, its not even the game, it would just be the satisfaction f knowing what the hell to do.

There's nothing obscure about RAR files or the programs that uncompress them. Unfortunately I don't think this forum is appropriate for your request.
