Have to be brief im scared to death but felt compelled to post something quick. This is my 1st real message board i signed up for, yesterday was my 1st post (im 55) and i was very hesitant because as sad as it is to say, people are mean, their wired mean today which is both my life opinion as well as life experiences. Well, ive tried to change but cant my grandmother raised me to always be kind and it stuck. What tha he** is this clown going with this is what everyone is saying right now ha! Well, i received 2 replies and if you could have read them, you would prolly be stunned also! The kindest, helpful, i could TASTE the sincerity!! Man,,,,you talk about refreshing whew! Right? The offer to help, offer to log on to my tablet he**, one of them even offered me a deer hunting stand! (That part was a lie) but that just makes someone with agoraphobia want to interact with these 2 and if you dont no how big that is, look up agoraphobia...Your site gives me a warm feeling and im excited to come back!
    Much appreciated

I'm a little confused..... I read both replies to your thread, one from a Trusted Advisor and the other from a Moderator and yes, they were definitely sincere but I didn't see any offer to log on to your tablet. In fact, both know better and referenced our rules where it states this is not allowed and that all help is to be kep in the public forums. This is for your protection as you never know who you're dealing with on the anonymous Internet.

I applaud you for taking the plunge to overcome your fear of the Internet. However, you do have to be careful about posting personal information as you did because, unfortunately, there are bad people out there just waiting to harvest those details and use them for nefarious purposes.

He might be referring to me. I sent him a private message offering to help him with his tablet via Team Viewer.

I'm not nefarious of anything. LOL! I like to help people with computer and technical issues in my free time. In fact, this isn't the only computer forum I am or have been a member. I have been at Bleepingcomputer, TechIMO, Computerforum and Anandtech.

But yeah. Never post your phone number or anything like that to the Internet for the world to see. Especially your E-mail. Though, I know this site uses CloudFlare and I use CF as well on my site and if I can remember right, there is an E-mail obfuscation option in the CF settings. That would help minimize bot harvesting, but that still doesn't stop a human spammer that lifts the E-mail for god knows what.
