I have Norton AntiVirus set to scan outgoing mail. Somehow, someone is sending thousands of spam through my internet connection. It completely locks up my computer. Anti-v picks up nothing, spybot picks up nothing, adaware picks up nothing. Why is my computer sending ga-zillions of e-mails to addresses I don't know with subjects that I do not play with?

tried the on-line virus scan, it picked up nothing. Any more suggestions?

Do you have a broadband connection through a router? You probably have a trojan running a SMTP connection on your PC. Update your virus defs and scan again.

Might be a good idea to disconnect the internet link first
