I have a SSD that has a password upon boot up, it was given to me by a friend cause i can not afford another hard-drive at the moment, It is encrypted i believe and i have tried many methods to wipe it. I attempted to wipe it with DBAN but it will not even let me get to bios or startup options upon bootup it instantly asks for the SSD password, i tried to unplug the hard rive boot to DBAN from usb then plug it in and try to wipe it (yes i know its stupid i was desperate) Is there any other way i can wipe it to put windows on? (I do not have a SATA to USB cord)

The hardrive is a Toshiba-500GB 5400rpm Sata

Yup, you can ask your friend for the password, hard drive passwords are not meant to be easily bypassed. Not much else we can help you with based on our password rules policy.

Also if it's a 5400 RPM drive then it's not an SSD, SSD's don't spin or have any moving parts.
