i cant get my mic to work

    i need help gettin my mic/headphones to work on my eMACHINES t5216

    ive tryed everything is there some kind of program i need ?

    and its also the mic/headphones r also for my counter-strike game which doesnt work on there also

    Have you tried plugging them into the right connection? The mic-in slot should be red.

    ive done that haha on the front and back of the tower

    Do you have external speakers connected, so you know the port actually works?

    If you look in the device manager is ther an exclamation mark on your sound card?

    you may have already tried this, but if not, double click your speaker icon in the taskbar (if you do not have one there, go to control panel, sounds, volume, advanced). Once you have volume control opened, go to Options -> Properties, and select recording instead of playback. From the recording volume control check that the mic level is up and the box is selected.

    Another note, if the mic is muted on the playback page, then you will not hear it even if it is working, try using sound recorder or something that will have a visual display of the level (or be sure it is not muted).

    Also be sure the mic level is up on playback and recording.

    yes my speakers work i just cant get the mic to work the headphones work fine

    yup i did everything haha its really gay

    i think ill just get my friend to help me next time i c him

    cuz hes really good with computers..
