    Hi

I hope this finds you well.

Yesterday I got a new 22" monitor for my desktop PC but as I only have a VIA/S3G Unichrome IPG graphics card I am unable to set the proper resolution for the new monitor.

I thought this would be fixed by getting a new graphics card so today I purchased a GeForce 9500GT only to find that it doesn't seem to slot into my motherboard. I fear I may have to return both the graphics card and monitor to the shop!

Is there something I'm missing or doing wrong? My motherboard is a KM400 8235.

Thanks for your time...and happy new year!

KM400 / 8235 is the chipset. Do you know the motherboard manufacturer and model number?

I suspect it is an older board that has an AGP slot instead of PCI-e.

    Hi

Thanks for getting back so quickly!

I used Belarc Advisor to try and determine what motherboard I have and it is saying this under the heading "Main Circuit Board":

    Board: KM400-8235
    Bus Clock: 133 megahertz
BIOS: Phoenix Technologies, LTD 6.00 PG 11/07/2003

Is this the answer to what you were asking? I'm a bit of a novice with hardware!

    Many thanks!

Thanks! You guys are really helpful. I've attached what came up when I ran cpuz. I'm afraid it doesn't recognize the manufacturer though
