Yes he was a good writer and very witty man. Sadly he had Alzheimer's from 2007 until his death in 2015 but he carried on writing.

I can particularly recommend 'Good Omens', which he wrote with Neil Gaiman, it's very funny.
He wrote a lot of comedy fantasy stuff by himself, not everyone's 'cup of tea' but they are good too.

And so early too at 66.....and such a scholar. This disqualifies the theory that exercising one's mind prevents Alzheimer's and related illnesses. Thanks for the links. :)
