Just got a new Laptop :)

    HP Mdl ZV5470us

To answer my own question of many weeks back...the high gloss screen is not a problem in the home lighting environment. No reflective glare when the screen is at normal illumination.

If the screen is black, or Verrrrry dark, you card see some reflection. The difference in brightness between this and my old HP with regular TFT LCD is...well night and day :D

Haven't tried any serious games on it to test out Video performance.

Sound is excellent with Harmon Kardon spkrs.

If you're interested in the overall specs Check:

Surprisingly, the sale price at Fry's, including Tx State Sales Tax was less than the direct purchase price online with free shipping!

I got the Z5000us model which looks to be designed the same, except instead of a P4, it has a 3400+ Athlon 64. It's a bit on the heavy side for a notebook, but it's one of the only off the shelf models that comes close to replacing a desktop in terms of performance..

The speakers are nice, but I hooked up a 5.1 USB adaptor and plugged some Logitechs in it for movies..
