ever since i've installed sp2 for xp pro i have loads of problems.
i have a drive in my hardik that is meant only for Internet downloads.
each time i'm trying to get into the drive or the drive is being scanned with my anti-virus program my screen turns blue and says "begining dump of physical memory bla bla bla" and my computer restarts.
if i'm going to add/remove program (cuz i wanted to remove the sp2) i get the blue screen again.
so in short, since i have the sp2 i have no access to one of my drives and to some other programs.
    what do i do?

Service pack two has known issues and even MS is telling people not to download it. There were even rumors that it will leave your system inoperative if it is an illegal copy. If you are having problems uninstall it from Add/remove programs or restore your system from an earlier restore point.

you could also run the h/d makers diognostic utilty on the drive to see if there is anything wrong with it
if your cpu is not one of the latest turn DEP off

Generally stop errors are related to device errors or bad drivers from what I understand.

Outside of SP2 have you installed any new hardware or programs? If not try booting into safe mode and uninstalling SP2. I don't think its possible because I don't believe the Windows Installer Service can run in safe mode...

    Try this...

    Boot into windows normally.

Open up msconfig from a command prompt. Use selective startup and go to the startup tab and uncheck everything you possibly can. Reboot and see if you still have the same error. If yes post it and I'll see if I can help you out.
