I had to exchange my old computer with my relative's for a reason I don't know, but when I tried manually uninstalling and deleting files I didn't need, I was completely lost. I've ran several scans and found no viruses, I've already deleted all personal files such as music, pictures, and documents which were no longer needed.

I use a Windows 7 Home Premium 32 Bit OS

I just tried running HiJackThis incase anyone needed it, but whenever I open the logfile, it's blank?

Please help, I just want to make this computer run new.

what kind of computer is it? starting over and doing a fresh install of the OS is probably the fastest and easiest way to accomplish what you're trying to do.

Some PCs have a factory restore feature, makes quick work of a OS reinstall.

    Make and Model please.

Advisory - It's Acer, if that's what your asking? Sorry, I'm not very good with computers. Is there anyway I can do it without installing the OS again? I don't have a disc or anything.

Mumnodog - What do you mean by make and model?

mumbodog was simply asking for the make (acer) and the model of the computer.

do you know if the computer originally came with windows 7? there should be a windows sticker on the box somewhere. if it says it's windows 7, the factory restore is a good option as you won't need the discs to "start over"

Acer is the Make, there should be a Model number on the laptop itself.

Oh okay. It's an Aspire E380
Edited - Model Number: ASE380-UD421A - Is that was you meant?
I just checked, it used to be a Vista. I never noticed that.

What country was that sold in, do you know?

Is it a full size notebook, or one of those small netbooks?

Is there an alternative? I'd like to try avoiding switching back to Vista, my previous computer ran under Vista and contained an unfair ammount of problems.

I know HiJackThis analyzes my computer and places all the programs and softwares installed into a logfile but as my first post said; I'm having a problem posting that logfile. If I find a fix to this, can I post the logfile and someone can tell me which programs I can uninstall without harming my computer or which programs I should most definitely keep?

Hi see if this link will work for you.
    • Save HJTInstall.exe to your desktop.
    • Doubleclick on the HJTInstall.exe icon on your desktop.
    • By default it will install to C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis .
    • Click on Install.
    • It will create a HijackThis icon on the desktop.
    • Once installed, it will launch Hijackthis.
    • Click on the Do a system scan and save a logfile button. It will scan and the log should open in notepad.
    • Click on "Edit > Select All" then click on "Edit > Copy" to copy the entire contents of the log.
    • Come back here to this thread and Paste the log in your next reply.
    • DO NOT use the AnalyseThis button, its findings are dangerous if misinterpreted.
    • DO NOT have Hijackthis fix anything yet. Most of what it finds will be harmless or even required.

Also post the uninstall log - from Hjt log.
Click on Config>Misc tools>Open uninstall manager.
