I have no sound

    I have an HP Pavilion dv9000 and my laptop has been working fine until i just turned it on now saying "No audio output device is installed" even though my sound worked perfectly fine yesterday when listening to music. any advice?

    What's the product number on the HP sticker so we can determine the exact model number you have?
    There are 98 known model numbers for the dv9000 series.

    Go into the Device Manager.
    What's listed in the Sound Video And Game Controllers heading?
    Are there any entries with a ? or ! next to them?
