I think this started after I reinserted my original purchased Windows XP-home edition disc to reinstall outlook express (which worked by the way). Shortly after this I got a message that I had a certain number of days to activate windows. Now I have to activate everytime I start up. I've activated & registered on line and by the phone but I still have to activate upon every start up. I have been installing all updates including SP2 but that was before this problem arose. Can anybody help???

Hi and welcome. When you activate by phone, are you telling them the problem you are having?

2nd msg to you: (I think i didn't send the first one properly) When I called the Microsoft Service Agent to register and activate I got an automated operator program. I did this 2 times anyway and reistered/activated 3 times on line. I still have to activate when before start-up is allowed. Thanks

I would think there should be some prompts to talk to a live person? Did you listen to all of the options?
