Hi,
I need to track downtime on a cable connection for one of my clients.
I use a Netgear Firewall/Router that rolls the connection over to Dial-up when the Cable craps out.
It tests the cable by pinging the DNS, if I am not mistaken.
I want to use a comprehensive monitor that will really tell me when the Cable craps out.
I have been getting security logs all day today from the router saying that the connection is up down up down up down up down and I can not help but wonder if the method the router uses to test the connection is accurate.
Any ideas for a good software package? It doesnt have to be free or anything it just has to work well.
Thanks,
Ken
