    Hello Everyone,

My computer's most out-of-date piece of hardware is my AMD Athlon XP 1800+ processor. So, I'd like to replace it. My problem is I don't know what kind of processor my computer can take... Is this based upon my motherboard? How do I find out what kind my motherboard can take? I have a Shuttle computer. My mainboard is a FX41

I'm not sure where to go from here...

What's the price range for a decent processor?

Any websites that help with this topic would be awesome : )

The motherboard in that can take up to an Athlon XP 2600+, make sure it's a 266FSB version and not a 333FSB or 400FSB.

Installation wise, do I just swap out my processors? That seems too easy...

So this Athlon XP 2600+ is the best my motherboard can take? If so, then that's the one I want. How did you find out that my motherboard would take that?

    So lost...

Thanks for the help : )
