Im not sure if this is the right forum, but i have a new computer I bought at a show. It has win98 b/c my computer was built right in front of me, and they werent allowed to use the XP software because of some reason. Any way... when i go to shut the comp off i click start than shut down, and it shuts off very fast, but than sometimes i turn it back on it says "windows protection error" and it tells you to shut the comp off/restart and when i do, the windows 98 start up menu comes up, liek as if it was shut down wrong with the normal and safe modes. When i click shut down the comp goes down by it self, but i was wondering do i also hit the switch in the back of the computer to when it shuts down by itself?

Thanx in advance

Hi,

Try this: Start / Run / msconfig / OK / General-ADVANCED /
click on "disable fast shutdown".

Hope this helps.
