I got a frantic call from a friend because her computer would not even boot up. I kept getting sent to the Safemode, then it would error messages

    error message #1
    BSoD
    File missing/corrept/system 32/drivers/ntfs.sys

Then I would also get at start up
    stop: C00002/unknown harderror/systemroot/system32/ntdll.dll

Should I just nuke the hard drive and re-install everything, or is this fixable?

(My guess is nuke it and move on)

I would try to repair the install with the recovery disk

I have tried to repair, but I get looped back to the same Safemode screen.

Put the recovery disk in and it should look like the windows setup but then it should give you the option to repair
