Happy New Year, Tech guys!
For the last few days I have trouble starting up my computer - when I turn it on, it "spins its wheels" then goes to disk check. When it finally gets going, I've got that old problem where every time I try to go to a website I get a "page not available" error page and when I hit refresh the page comes up. Last night I saw a task bar window open up saying "scanning outgoing mail" when I hadn't sent any. This morning in my inbox I have TWO "returned mail" notices with lists of addresses of people I don't know - large alphabetical lists - that obviously went through my computer. I've run spyware scan and virus scan and nothing shows up, but it seems obviously I've got SOMETHING in my computer.
These may be separate problems or could be related, I don't know!
I haven't deleted the postmatster e-mails, can give you the headers/properties if you need.
Help, please!
Sharon

I still haven't solved the problem of bulk spam e-mail that was sent from my computer, but we did solve the boot-up problem ... seems the video card connection had juggled loose (but not out) and so the computer was searching and searching and searching and searching.
Should the e-mail question be in a different folder/forum?
Sharon:rolleyes:
