A free trial of the new Zone Labs Security Scanner found Atdmt-3rd Party Cookie on my Compaq Presario Pentium 3 / 850 MHz, 40.0 GB hard Drive, 128 MB Memory. I know almost nothing about computers, and would like to get rid of this virus/trojan horse/spyware or whatever it is without having to purchase even more security software. Ad-aware, EasyCleaner, Norton, and ZoneAlarm, seem quite enough. Except for Atdmt-3rd Party Cookie. Any help in deleting the thing is certainly appreciated.

Download and run: SPYBOT SEARCH & DESTROY, here:

Open Spybot Search & Destroy (Click Start, Programs, Spybot S&D (Advanced Mode). Click online, Search for updates, Download all available updates. Close all Browser windows, Click ''Check for Problems'', Put a check in every entry Spybot Search & Destroy flags with a red exclamation mark and click ''Fix Selected Problems'' , Then restart your computer.

Download both of these for added protection: SPYWAREBLASTER & SPYWAREGUARD, here:

Then download Hijack This and post a scan log for review by the experts.

Please do this. Click here: http://www.sherrylynn.us/HijackThis.exe to download Hijack This. Save it to it’s own folder (not temporary files or the desktop).

Close all open windows and open HIJACK THIS. Click “Scan”. When the scan is finished (it only takes a second), the scan button will change to “Save Log”. Click on “Save Log” and save it to NotePad. Copy the entire log and paste it here.

DO NOT FIX ANYTHING YET, most items that appear in the log are harmless or even needed. Wait for someone to analyze the scan and advise.

Cookiegal, you are one smart cookie. You've posted a LOT of information that looks like you've done some homework. I, on the other hand, hate computers with all my heart hehehehe. I've discovered that the item(s) identified by the new Zone Labs Security Scanner are pretty easy to spot in my temporrary cookie files and I can delete 'em one at a time. Untill I have a chance to print and study what you've suggested, this will have to do. I wanna thank you very sincerely for your expertise and help to me. This is an official IchabodCrane "Ya' done good" post. BTW: What d'ya think of my movie?

You could also delete your temporary files regularly.
