I downloaded a program called Paltalk. It put an icon on my desktop toolbar that I cannot seem to remove by exiting and restarting machine. I went into MSCONFIG and removed the checkmark next to the program. I accepted it, restarted, and the icon was still there. I looked inside MSCONFIG and the checkmark was STILL THERE!!. Is my machine haunted, or is there another way to correct this problem. Thanks.

If you are using IE 6, you can right click on your toolbar, choose customise, and remove the icon.

Whether or not you want to remove (uninstall) the program after reading the info posted by wizzkid is your choice, but you can remove the icon by doing the above.
