Somehow on WINNT Workstation 4.0 SP6a, icons have changed to the attached screen shot. Does anybody know how to change this back? It is the most annoying thing I have ever seen. I'm trying to avoid re-install, and i have been through virtually all settings i can think of. I have also tried re-service packing...

If the icons are looking kinda funky (ie..not like usuall) ... Look for a file called ShellIconCache in the WINNT dir (file is hidden.) delete it and windows will rebuild the icon library and put them in that file (Make a backup first just in case something else is wrong with the OS - but we all know Windows is flawless :)).
Windows stores the icons associated with applications in that file. If it is deleted, Windows will rebuild it right after you delete it...but it may take a few minutes - that is why I say reboot. This is worth a try.
