Press the Windows key + R to open a Run box.

    Copy/Paste the following command:

    Code:
    regedit /e C:\look.txt "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell Icons"

    Press Enter.

You won't notice anything. However, it will have created a report on your C drive named look. Attach that file to your next reply.

    Try THIS.

Save the .reg file to your desktop. Double-click it to merge it to the registry.

    Restart the computer.

If the fix only opens as a text file (in Notepad), right-click the file (before opening it) and select Open With > Choose Program... Then, select the Registry Editor.

If the Registry Editor is not in the list, browse to C:\WINDOWS and select regedit.

    OK, let's try the following:

    First,

Press the Windows key + R to open a Run box.

    Type regedit

    Press Enter.

    Go to:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell Icons

    Right-click Shell Icons.

Select Export and save the file to a location of your choice. This will back up the key.

    Next,

Save the attached .reg file to your desktop.

Double-click it to merge it to your registry.

    Restart the computer.

After backing up that key, right-click Shell Icons again and delete it.

Then, merge my attached file to the registry.

Unhide is a fix for infected systems with rogue anti-spyware programs. Do not run this until you hear from Phantom010.
