Where do I find the icons file or folder in Windows XP and how do I download new icons to it so that I can change icons easily? :eek:

location icon shell file;
c:\windows\system32\shell32.dll

if you get new icons set from somewhere [do google/research to make sure the source is reputable and trouble free] , make a system restore point just before you set up the new icons.

Thanks for the help Bobol. Your reply raises another question for me. How do I set a system restore point? I looked in Windows Help but if its there I'm not understanding it.

Start/All Programs/Accessories/System Tools/System Restore.On the right side,select Create a restore point,click Next.Name the restore point something like "Pre icon download" so you can keep track of it.

Rude,
Your help is greatly appreciated. I am new to WXP, have not had permanent access to a computer in 2 years.(In school) The questions I ask may seem stupid, but the answers I receive from you tech guys is really helping to bring me up to speed.
Thanks, Pam
