anispingo.........you need to change your friends nick in your own icq list, your icq program is exclusive to your computer,it wont change nicknames until you tell it to........just left click the name and choose "re-name" from the dropdown menu.
as for your other icq problem.......not sure at all why its doing that,i would sugest you do a virus scan just in case and scan for trojans as well www.moosoft.com "the cleaner" that will do it for you.
good luck;)

Hiya

Which version do you have? Also, you may want to run a virus scan just to be safe:

http://housecall.antivirus.com/housecall/start_corp.asp

Now, do you have the yellow box in your Systray? Its the Net detect Agent. If not, you may need to enable this.

When you say that your Contact List is very strange, are you hust meaning the new names that you mentioned, or something else?

This is how to rename a user

Click on the name of the user you wish to rename.
Select Rename.
The user's name is highlighted.
Type in the name you wish to appear on your Contact list for this user.
Press Enter - The name you chose appears on your Contact List.

Regards

ok guys ,
it seems that u haven`t understood what i meant., i need to say that when the database on ICQ changes it doesn`t change in my contact list (when some body changes his nick on yahoo messenger it`s desplayed to all the users who added him to their contact list) is not it true?

on ICQthe buddies have not only a name that can be changed they have a specific # as well. If someone on your list changes their name it will not change on your list til you change it. Reason for that is... you may know them as say "8ball" in a chatroom & on ICQ they may be "queball". So you renamed them to what you know them by.

Example....they have went & joined another chatroom & want their new friends to find them & they change their name. Its Queball now & so he makes his ICQ that name as well. Well hes already on your ICQ list as 8ball... if you suddenly saw a queball on your list you'd think you'd been hacked or something. ( least i would ...LOL ) So therefore til you change the name ... it will remain the same.
HOWEVER.... if you run your database converter again... it may go back to the buddies original name after you have changed it yourself already...

If they change ICQ #'s they will not be on your buddy list automatically.

Hope this has helped

Savvy :)
