    Who cares, just answer the question.


    With a single drive on a IDE channel, unless the jumper is set to slave it should auto detect as master on ever boot or by you telling it to do so in the BIOS.

    Nice attitude. It's a lot easier to answer questions if one knows what someone is trying to do. As for the response some drives need jumper settings even if it's the only drive on the cable!
