When I try to clean out the Auto-complete area on IE 6.0, it instantly gets hung up. I have to use the Task Manager to close out. I have cleaned this out in the past, so I can only assume I accidentally changed something somewhere to cause this.

I have reset my settings on auto complete, rebooted, still no luck.

I use auto complete for forms all the time, it saves me tons of time while I work from home.

    Any suggestions?

    1. right-click on the taskbar, choose properties, click the Start Menu Programs tab and click the Clear button.

    2. To clear forms and passwords information, go to Tools>InternetOptions, click the Content tab, click the AutoComplete button, and uncheck all boxes.

    3. In Internet Explorer, go to Tools>Internet Options, click the Advanced tab and uncheck "use inline autocomplete for web addresses" and "use inline autocomplete in Windows Explorer"

    4. Backup the registry and/or export the following keys:
go to Start>Run, type regedit. Navigate to:

    HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\IntelliForms\SPW

and delete any encypted entries that are listed in the right pane window, leaving only the (Default) entry.

Go to this registry key and delete all except default

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\TypedURLs

Now reboot and try clearing history again, if it works retick the boxes you unticked previously
