I just install XP Pro on my kids PC a couple days ago and I have never personally witnessed this problem on any PC. Sometimes when he just begins to type something in the search area of AOL 9.0 it hard crashes the PC it will reboot and of course go through the check disk thing and it might be fine for a while but eventually will do it again I am totally lost here. I am not really sure it's the IE 6.0 to blame just thinking it might be.
    Thanks Mr. Bill

Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer 6 Service Pack 1 (KB832894)
This is the only update not installed, no anti virus I just personally don't like them had one before and it really slowed down his machine, I have 4 other PC'S networked and all is well with them. I do have a firewall and I have networked my home long ago using a router. I was wondering if it could be a problem with AOL could re-install that pretty easy or maybe do a repair of IE 6.0 what do you think. Would you like me to run hijack i already have spybot installed and have immunized.

    Hi

    First, visit this link: http://housecall.trendmicro.com/housecall/start_corp.asp
It's a free online anti-virus scan. May not be the cause but it eliminates one of the possibilities.
I've found AOL causes havoc with just about everthing, weather it be system, internet, gaming etc etc.
One way to try this is remove AOL completely and open IE. You wont be able to connect without internet but it should open and see if it loads ok.
