I've been pulling my hair out trying to figure out why I keep getting a broken QT icon in my IE 6 browser when I try to play a QT movie online. Yes...I've been to QTs Site and tried their help section including copying the plug-ins again into my IE 6 plug-in folder, d/loaded the newest ActiveX from Microsoft, Uninstalled and re-installed both IE6 and QT5...nothing seems to work...although I can drag the sample QT movie into an IE6 browser window and that will work...bu that's about it. Oh, I'm running W98SE. Please help!! Thanks. Bill

Hiya

Have a look here:

http://www.zdnet.com/products/stories/pipreviews/0,8827,475508,00.html

where it says, near the bottom:

IE 6 also doesn't support Netscape-style plug-ins, including QuickTime. Microsoft says the change was made for security purposes, but the burden will now be on plug-in developers to produce Active X versions of their applications. Apple has since updated QuickTime to overcome this problem, and when we played several videos with QuickTime, we didn't experience any difficulties. We're not aware of any other plug-ins that may conflict with IE, but you may want to keep your eyes open for similar problems.
Therefore, have you got the latest version of Quicktime, and have you got the latest updates for IE6?

Regards

eddie
