I had gone to a couple of gaming sites researching on some games and out of nowhere, it had popped up adult sites all over the place. I did all my spyware software and cleared out all the adult crap, but all of a sudden, they are showing up on my address dropdown list! Even after running the software, I thought that would clear them off the list.

Is there anyway besides clearing out all of the history that I can get rid of the one or 2 individual adult web addresses? Any help would be great. Thanks in advance.

Have you tried clicking on the History tab in IE, clicking on "Today", then right clicking on the URL of the bad site that ends up dropping down and then clicking "Delete" to delete that individual site? That should work...

I did that and I thought it would clear it also, but when you drop down the list under the Address Bar, the site is still there.

That's really weird. You've tried to delete the individual site and not the whole "Today" folder, right? When you delete the site, is it gone from the Today list but still remains in the address bar or is it still there in both?

If I delete something like that, it will always disappear from the drop down menu.

Is there any harm clearing your entire history?

Yes, deleted the individual site from the Today List, but it doesn't disappear from the drop-down list.

It has never removed from the drop-down list when I deleted the individual site from the Today List.

I have cleared the entire history before with no problems - that's the only way it will disappear. I just wanted to delete just an individual or a couple of sites from the drop-down list.

You should be able to do that without problems. After all, I do that all the time and it always works. :p

I don't know why it is not letting you do that. Have you tried deleting another "good" site to see if it removes?

I can recall one occassion that I was on legitimate sites when all of a sudden a whole bunch of porn sites came up. I tried to remove them like that but they didn't go away. I then realized that a whole bunch of adult sites got bookmarked into my favourites list into three separate folders lol. Deleting those favourites allowed the drop down list to be cleared of them. The drop down list can still access favourites, remember that.

I have a similar problem. There are several sites that never get removed from the dropdown list, even when I've cleared the history over and over again. It's always the same few.
8dalejr.fan....I"ve checked by favorites and I don't see any "surprise" favorites hidden there.
Any other suggestions out there? It's really annoying.
