Have not seen this problem referred to anywhere, and would appreciate any suggestions.

I use IE 6, and sometimes (not always), when I have two or more IE windows open and click on a bookmark in one window, the bookmark will open in the other window.

In other words, the background window opens the bookmark I was trying to open in the foreground window.

I tried playing with the Reuse Windows for Launching Shortcuts setting in Internet Options, but this did not solve the problem (only refers to LAUNCHED shortcuts).

This irritating little glitch is driving me crazy.

On the desktop,go to Start -> Settings -> Control Panel, then Add/remove programs.

Once there, go to your version of IE and then "Add/remove." you really can't truly get rid of IE, but you'll get 3 options:

-Add a component,
-Repair IE
-Revert to previous installation

Choose the Repair IE option first.........
You will then be prompted to reboot and that will hopefully take care of the problem.

Thanks for the repair suggestion; I tried it, but it didn't help anything.

I don't intend to revert to a previous version over this, though. If I did that every time I was unhappy with a new "feature," I'd still be running DOS 6.2. :)
