Hi Everbody

sorry for such ignorant question but I cant put my IE 5.5 Favourities in Alphabetical Order... :( I do ALL my lists in alphabetical order, so for my its extremly difficult to work without it. I was searching IE options up and down - no results. I mustbe stupid or blind... :(

Yours

Hi

You are not ignorant! MSIE is a pain in the posterior!

Try going to C:\WINDOWS\Favorites then View/Arrange Icons by/ Alphabetical Order

Let us know if this works.

Hi bassetman,

first; thanks for your quick answer :)

Now: when I "arrived" to C:\WINDOWS\Favorites I saw that icons inside are already set by Alphabetical Order in this catalogue :( But anyhow, I set option one more time to show by Alphabetical Order. NO RESULTS! Why? I think lot of people would like to set their favourites the way I also want them to be...

You you'll have any more ideas you are not welcome but begged to send them :)

Your Jacek

Hi

This question came up in a thread the other day. Some has alphabetical others not, no one knew why they had what they did.

Try a search if you'd like.

I am stumpted, mine are alphabetical !

Who knows why!?

I have IE6. I can click on Favorites, then right-click on the list and sort by name.

I don't remember if IE 5 has that or not. I have had IE6 for so long.

If that option is not there, I have an idea that should work.

create a folder on your desktop. name it whatever you want.

now go into c:\windows\favorites, select everything.

cut and paste to the folder on your desktop.

Your favorites folder will now be empty.

Now go into the folder on your desktop and cut and paste them back into the c:\windows\favorites folder.

It worked for me, but I have win2k.

anyways give it a shot.

Hi Shadow2531

you are right, thanks - right-clicking on favourities really does shows option: change by name. Big thanks!

But I would like to give big thanks to bassetman for his help and support. Its pleasure to contact with such guys as both of you are. I mean it :)

At the end let me tell you something IMHO it _shouldnt_ be ONLY right-clicking. This option should be also possible to manage from menu. But i dont work for MS, so maybe I am wrong :))

Sincerely yours

Jacek
