    Hello all,
In the past week I've come across 3 problems with my pc, which I don't know if they are related or not

    1) I use Comcast Highspeed Cable Internet and I've noticed as of late that my connection seems to have a wave effect while downloading. It'll go high, then low, then high, then low. I use a Linksys Router and Modem, but I haven't done anything or changed anything to my internet connection properties either on my pc or through the router/modem.

    2) I have yet to upgrade to the new Internet Explorer because I've heard of people having several problems with it, so I'm still using the old, stable IE 6. Trouble I've been having lately though is as I browse webpages it tends to hang for about 5-10 secs, then all of the sudden the page loads up all at once. I've ran virus and spyware checks, defragged, and performed a scandisk.....everything seems fit!

    3) What finally led me to post here is, today I found a 3rd problem. I just noticed that on the General Tab under System Properties my processor info has gone missing. I use Windows XP sp2 and all the System info is there, all the Registered to info is there, but under Computer the only info listed is my RAM.

If anyone has any suggestions to either or all 3 problems, I greatly appreciate it!

    Thank you ahead of time!

AMD Athlon XP 2600+ Socket A chip
MSI KT4V VIA KT400 series motherboard
ATI Radeon x700 pro 256 DDR RAM AGPx8 vid card
    3GB RAM
    Soundblaster Live 5.1

Why don't you post a HijackThis log so we can see what we're working with?

With cable broadband, you're sharing the pipe with a node, so if there are lots of users on the node, your speed can vary with the overall load. That could be a partial answer for 1. and 2.
