When I click on a link to a page (that I've used many times before) IE suddenly shuts down. Actuually, I jsut tried it on FireFix also and the same thing happened. Makes me think it's a firewall issue, but I don't know how to troubleshoot that. Tried all I cound, but not a TrendMicro guru and could appreciate any help that's out there.

What firewall are you using? And also could we have some system statistics like Processor, speed, Ram, hard drive capacity and free space .

Suggestion try cleaning out your temp files

    Goto Control Panel
    Open Internet Options
Under Temp Internet files click on delete cookies and then delete files and put t ick in off line content and click ok

Give it a try after this for Internet Explorer. We will work on Firefox later.

Thanks for the response. My answers in ().

What firewall are you using? (PC Cillan by Trend Micro)

And also could we have some system statistics like Processor, speed, Ram, hard drive capacity and free space . (Pent4, speed - ? , RAM - 1MB, 2 hard drives - 160 and 400), free total 60gb+)

Suggestion try cleaning out your temp files (previously done and again just now).

Tried it again and still get same problem. Actually I noticed that it completely closed down IE, not just the opened window. It completely shut IE down.

May not be able to respon further until tomorrow. Early day ahead. I greatly appreciate your help (and hope you have more to contribute).

The PC-cillin that you are using is that the PC-cillin Internet Security? I had to go do some research on this one apparently this is a new product. This might be a problem with the firewall and this one is so new the only way to find out if it is a setting or what ever might be wrong is for you to contact PC-cillin Internet Security tech support for troubleshooting For anybody here to troubleshoot it would mean that we would have to get this and install it. I would suggest contacting their tech support try on line first.

Also there is a chance that your computer might be infected even though you have PC-cillin Internet Security installed. I would like you to do a HijackThis as described below:

To Download HijackThis go to the following: http://www.thespykiller.co.uk/html/downloads.html

After the HijackThis is finished downloading and you are ready, run HijackThis and when the program is finished
Go to the following to post your log file and it will be analyzed by a qualified tech

Ran the HijackThis and have the log file, but I'm not sure where you want this posted. Am I to create a new thread or is there an existing item I"m to attach it to. Sorry for the confusion.
