IE & OE do not work properly. IE tabs slowly and hesitates and OE is slow to start. I tried the microsoft editing the reg fix from the 251787 article but no luck still have a problem. I tried everything that i know of, reintall windows 98 SE, IE 6.0 etc.. nothing corrects it. I even did the imagehlp.dll extraction and that didn't work either any ideas?

go to http://www.tomcoyote.org/hjt/ , and download 'Hijack This!'.
Unzip, doubleclick HijackThis.exe, and hit "Scan".

When the scan is finished, the "Scan" button will change into a "Save Log" button.
Press that, save the log somewhere, and please copy & paste its contents to the forum.

It will possibly show issues deserving our attention, but most of what it lists will be harmless or

even required, so do NOT fix anything yet.
Someone here will be happy to help you analyze the results.

Do you have MSN Messenger on the computer.
Problems with OE starting slow are attributed to it (by default ) trying to start messenger when it opens up OE.

You can disable this option in OE.

    Open up OUTLOOK EXPRESS
    Click on TOOLS, OPTIONS
    Under the GENERAL tab
UNCheck option "AUTOMATICALLY LOG ON TO WINDOWS MESSENGER

    good luck!!!

One of the fixes from tomsterdam worked, I believe it was the last one. I removed the pstore files into a new folder. Deleted the registory key for current user identies, I exported it and backed it up then deleted it and all is well. The problems I was having with my 2 computers are now solved thanks to the help of this site and thru the many links shared.

    Many thanks to all!
